Piet Mondrian

Born: March 7th 1872
Died: February 1st 1944
Type of art: Painting
Style/movement: De stijl art movement

How did he learn to make art? He radically simplified the elements of his paintings to reflect what he saw as the spiritual order underlying the visible world.

In this picture I see a bunch of shapes mixed together to make bigger shapes. I also see different designs in the way the shapes are placed and different sizes of shapes. I see red, blue, yellow, and brown colors in this picture. I see mostly triangles and lines. By his art work I can tell he likes patterns and to be random and draw whatever comes to mind, whether it's simple or hard. This art makes me feel happy with all of its bright colors.

In this art work I see a tube in the center with walls surrounding it. I see black, white, red, dark blue, and yellow colors. I noticed the white and yellow colors stick out the most. I see a bunch of little and big rectangles and skinny and fat ones as well. I can tell he's a really creative person and likes to mix shapes together. This art makes me curious to what it's purpose was and what the object was supposed to be in the center.
